I will then update this to five stars and leave a glowing review
Does not connect to the iPad Pro M4 and the app does not open either. The link to support is gone.
I think that the app itself is amazing, but there are just few things that are not the best that i would point out. Eq controls are not the best, when i try to set my custom eq the sound gets muffled and does not have a great frequency separation, the best eq settings i can find are on spotify and i think the app should make their the same or even better. Also the miniroll and wonderboom 2,3,4 speakers should also have their place in the app if the roll can have it:)
Great speaker hadn’t used it for about four months. I’ve switched the cord switched the Docs done. Everything that I need to do done the resets that you find out about online cannot get the speaker to hold a charge. Maybe the developer will give me an answer or an idea.
Unfortunately, speakers constantly lose connection and sputter repeatedly, which creates a horrendous user is the worst possible use case when having a party that is dependent on good vibes and good tunes… the app simply does not work well with multiple speakers paired - which is the entire purpose of this application and sole purpose of purchasing multiple UE speakers….. huge disappointment
App needs EQ settings or at least a seven band EQ & ability to save presets!
I like it and it works for me
All of a sudden a “Battery Critical “ warning pops ip on the Megaboom 3 page on my phone. I continually getting instructions to plug/unplug, check power source, etc etc. Garbage! I am in. continuous loop of non-pertinent articles and instructions. UR’s AI is an imbecile.
After about a month of owning my speaker, the app stopped connecting and I had to physically push the button on the speaker. You had one job.
I can’t get my wonderboom connected to the app bc it doesn’t show in the list of devices in the app.
This app and the party-up feature was a game changer when it came out years ago. So many epic times! But in recent times it’s functionality and stability has dwindled with every update.
My app only lets me connect to the speak but wont let me control the volume or go to the same page like it used too, I’ve had to redownload the app a couple times now and nothing is working. Please fix this i really enjoyed when i could adjust the bass and now i cant.
This app worked well for years, but this past month, it will no longer work with my Boom 3 speaker despite following all of the pairing steps perfectly. I’d recommend another speaker brand like JBL. The quality control here is poor.
The app fails to connect with Bluetooth, and I’m forced to manually connect it every time.
The app no longer connects with the speaker, and as of this week, the speaker continuously turns itself off even when being charged.
No puedo conectar mi wonderboon no aparece en el menú de la Aplicación
House party was the reason I got multiple speaker now it doesn’t work, that was the best part of the app and the speakers. Very disappointed not worth it!
I’m pretty lazy so I do appreciate the remote start/shutoff via bluetooth feature. Now how about y’all unleash/unlock the iOS app in the store so I can download it from the App Store and install it on my MacBook w/Apple silicon w/could likely run the iOS app. I’m a willing to take my chances. What could go wrong?
When I first started using the Ultimate Ears Bluetooth speaker brand, I acquired a Megaboom 3. I loved it instantly and bought three more. Then, after a couple of years, came the HyperBoom! I was stoked about the sound quality, the sheer presence of a clear/clean soundstage, and the fact that I could “Party Up” with all my Booms and use them as a wireless surround sound or multi-room speaker setup. Having paid a whopping $250 for my HyperBoom, I was a bit miffed when “Partying Up” all my speakers because that terrific sound each Boom could produce on its own sounded horrendous, and the update on the app had injected numerous issues. The HyperBoom had now bumped up to $450 at Best Buy (due to the popularity of demos at the stores). Still, my biggest mistake was trying to fix this terrible, static-laden, non-EQ’able, horrific sound coming out of the big box that worked flawlessly for a few years by updating the UE | Boom software. All my custom settings for the EQ were still there, but the soundstage was hollow, flat, and empty, accompanied by a significant decrease in volume. Plus, the HyperBoom started turning off at random. This was frustrating, and I wrote an extensive review. For unknown reasons, this review was never published in the App Store. I am not sure if it was because I was speaking the truth about the app's problems and what it had done to all the time spent creating custom EQs. Maybe UE didn’t care about what the app did to their existing speakers that the “updated” app had ruined. The shiny, new Epic/EverBooms were the latest mean motor scooters on the block, and the new Bluetooth speakers worked great with the app. Nobody has ever answered what happened to the app or speakers after the updates to the UE|Boom were made. After reading numerous reviews reporting my findings, I prayed that UE would release an update to fix the UE|Boom app. Months went by, and speaker sound continued falling further into mediocrity when using the app, and my frustration finally reached the max. So, I returned to using my Bluetooth Marshall speakers(excellent tone, presence, and sound)! Shortly after, an update from UE came out, and I decided to try it. To my astonishment, it restored the wonderful sound from my HyperBoom. I'm not sure if your company can share what changes were made to regain this Lucious sound, but if you are able, please pass them on to your dev team. Well, now it appears that another update is on the loose. Until I actually see positive(RECENT) reviews, I will NOT update my HB, any of my MegaBoom3s, or that mediocre application for fear of losing that sweet-sweet, original Ultimate Ears sound again! I’ve worked with numerous developers in my day, and when we rolled out change controls for our in-house (vendor-integrated apps, too), we spent months planning, testing in a sandbox on both retro and current blade servers, and spending countless hours working in unison with the Customer Care Liaisons to ensure that our deployments went off without a hitch 99.9999% of the time. If the Customer side of the Enterprise was not satisfied, and if the end-user testing teams failed to pass, we debugged, patched, and retested by the end-user testing teams, application support, database operations, Enterprise Server Ops, Middleware, Engineering, etc… to try to go against ChangeBoard and explain what was fixed before a new date of deployment would occur. After being approved by CB, and if any SNAFUs were to arise well, we ROLLED THEM BACK AND FIXED THE ISSUE BEFORE THROWING IT ON TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC!!! Ultimate Ears makes some of the most spectacular-sounding UE-PRO in-ear monitors I’ve ever heard. Please take your development team from UE-PRO and move some of them over to your Bluetooth speaker dev teams. With the sheer volume of complaints that I read earlier, this move might teach your Bluetooth devs how to make a stable, solid, and reliable-sounding speaker ensemble. Otherwise, please make a separate app for each Bluetooth speaker you make, and don’t release them until all the bugs are fixed. I have faith this can be accomplished. Instead of jacking up prices on speakers, creating $50-$100 fewer portables than the HB, drop prices to reasonable levels on all your portables until your company can find devs who are passionate about their work and are not just trying to meet a deadline! Thanks for being good sports about my review. I have no hatred for Ultimate Ears, but after this many negative reviews in the App Store, it’s probably time that you address the present issues before releasing lesser-quality speakers and apps. Also, please consider building a new HyperBoom(s)that are only sold as a paired set for around $500-$600 a pair, and they have their OWN APPLICATION DEDICATED TO THAT PKG/PAIR OF SPEAKERS!!! Now, I LOVE UE, but I have 18-year-old Alesis studio monitors that still blow overpriced UE Bluetooth speakers away, and I only paid $599 before tax for the pair. I have never had “updates,” “applications,” or “headaches” pushed to them since I bought them. They are still in fantastic shape after taking exceptional care of them for nearly 2 decades. They blow me away with their non-colored sound, lack of over-emphasized bass, and sensational production-level sound. Plus, they are angelic when listening to vinyl. I hope this gets posted in the reviews, and I hope you find a development crew with some stellar audiologists to work with before another poor update is rolled out to the UE|BOOM app. Thanks for your time.
I tried many times to connect my epicboom to the app by following the instructions but it gets stuck on “connect your speaker and then comeback to the app” I do exactly that and when i open the app again it stays in that screen Update I hade to hard reset the speaker to be able to fix the problem no complains now an easy to use app
Just changed over to apple and have been pretty frustrated that’s there’s no one touch function for Spotify from the magic button. Hope this can be added soon!!!
You shouldn't have to download an app to use a Bluetooth speaker. It's unnecessary and annoying. It made a nice gift feel like work.
UI is clean and easy to see. It connects to the speaker very quickly and the EQ controls are easy to dial in. Once you get the EQ set how you would like you don’t need to change that much but you can still use the app to power it on and check the battery. Haven’t been able to try the party mode though.
This latest (iPad) version crashes after I connect to my 2 speakers and then select one of them to join them together in stereo. Bummer.
I've had a Megaboom 3 for a few years now and when I first started using the app, I immediately noticed how bad the interface is for VoiceOver users. The tabs at the bottom are not labeled, the settings button at the top right of the screen is also unlabeled. Most egregiously, the alarms section is completely inaccessible. When I try double-tapping on it to set an alarm, nothing happens. This app needs serious work!
I'm connected to the speaker, but the app doesn't recognize that, I can't get past the instructions screen. All I want to do is disable the extremely loud startup sound which the app should allow if it ever recognizes the connection. Absolutely infuriating.
I bought BOOM speakers for my house to be able to play music in multiple rooms. The app worked great for that for awhile and then started crashing EVERY time I try and use it. Deleting and redownloading (as well as other standard trouble shooting actions) don’t help. So now every party has music in only one room and I have useless speakers I paid for in the other rooms.
Since I've purchased this Boom from Ultimate Ears, it continues to turn off in mid song and nobody seems to know the answer. The quick start sheet that comes with it indicates many features, but on my app, it indicates only how to get it up and running, and it stops there. I've checked several times to see if I made a mistake or overlooked something, but I have not. For a simple speaker that should be plug and play, there's a lot of complications with this at a high price and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Especially if you don't like reading endless instructions that don't make sense.
I’m beyond frustrated. I bought two speakers so that I could use them together for stereo sound. Everything worked fine until an app update. I’ve tried everything- removing the speakers and re-adding, etc. Nothing works. So now I have an expensive paper weight. How hard is it to make an app that works? UPDATE: I deleted the app and reinstalled as instructed. Same issue. One would think that all of the bad reviews would trigger this company to act but apparently not. The speakers sound great. What a shame that a dysfunctional app has to ruin them
I love this speaker it works wonderful!
This may be the worst app. All it does is help (which I didn’t need) to connect your speaker and get your email address. That’s it. I love my speakers but this app is a real disappointment.
I’ve paired an old Iphone 8 with my Boom 2 successfully for years, but now I have a new iPhone16 & the pairing is not happening. What am I doing wrong??? I hold down the button 3 seconds & no device is detected on the bluetooth setting
Somehow, it was deleted off my phone, unable to re-download it, it’s asking for me to go to my Apple Pay to make a payment for an app that that’s free
Love the speakers but, linking two speakers can be very frustrating to listen to. At times it’s great and no issues but, most of the time I get one speaker that cuts in and out or get a background static noise. Please fix this!!!!
Just the title. Have followed the instructions exactly and it should be pretty intuitive and easy but somehow not. This app need a lot of work or an entire overhaul.
Brand new just purchased, connected via Bluetooth with iPhone, downloaded the app, and the app will not connect to device. Why have the app if it doesn’t work?
I love the speaker really good sound. Everything is awesome about it except for one thing. It won’t take a charge anymore tried with three different chargers
Speaker will not turn on unless plugged in. App will not update speaker firmware. It’s the lynchpin of a very expensive device.
Speakers are really good, I’ll use different UE products around 10 years… but… why that sound when turning on and connecting the speaker so loud??? For what?…. Can you do something with that, please? Just hate that…
After finally getting my Megaboom 3 paired with a new iPhone 16. It’s back in use in my workshop. I would prefer better instructions, everything works smoothly once you figure out the right button to push.
The app is crashing as you open it. Please fix!
The app does not do anything. You connect the speaker and nothing happens. I would look into this.
Like all you it won’t connect
Speakers are okay the app is non functional. One of the worst apps on the App Store. Not sure how or why they would have thought it was okay to release in this condition.
This app and speaker ecosystem used to be good, but now none of my speakers are getting firmware updates to fix bugs. It’s frustrating having my speaker read the wrong battery level or shut off at random times even when the battery still has hours of runtime remaining.
My phone connects to my boom 4 just fine. The app completely fails to connect though. If I’m playing music and then open up the app, the music stops but the app never detects the device.
My UE Boom worked fine before opening this app. The app said my speaker was too old to be supported, but now it has trouble connecting to any of my devices. I wish I hadn’t tried it.
I’ve been using, purchasing UEs for years, I have several new and old. The inconsistency of this app drives me nuts. Random disconnecting, speakers disappearing from availability, then it’ll work fine for 20-30 min, then start all over. Please advise how to resolve or PLEASE update the app to fix the ‘BUGS’. Thank you in advance!
The UE app doesn’t function. It tells you how to connect your speaker to your mobile device and then simply doesn’t serve another function. The back of the box does enough to explain how to connect the speaker. I was hoping that the app would have some form of controls so I could remotely turn on my speaker or have other controls such as bass or treble. Over all a bad app design as it has not purpose. 0/5
